New Neighbors

Please welcome Christina Bella & Marvin Murry, Morningstar Trail.

Please welcome Henry & Lisa Curry, Windsong Trail.

Welcome Baskets

The Welcome Basket Committee is made up of Linda Brown 214-693-1612, Ioana Bates 469-396-5480 and Vicki Bean 214-949-7805 v.bean46@yahoo.com. We put baskets with home items and food together for our new neighbors and invite them to join the North College Neighborhood Association. Please contact us if you know of a new neighbor on your block! The baskets are sponsored by the NCPNA.

Book Club

Book club is back and our first meeting is in the books! Sutton Foster’s “Hooked” was an easy, but enjoyable read and even got some members crafting again. Most importantly, we got to meet in person for the first time in about 18 months, support a local business, and our host raffled off beautiful reading journals. Our next book is Ann Patchett’s “These Precious Days” with a meet-up in the neighborhood on Saturday 3/25 from 1-3pm at Hannah’s house. Our next 5 books are picked and we’d love you to join us! Check out the NCPNA Facebook page or email Hannah Spates at spateshannah@gmail.com to join the book club newsletter. Happy reading!

Flag Patrol

To keep our costs down we have a volunteer flag patrol who help deploy and retrieve the flags. We now have over 100 flags flying in North College Park! If you are willing to help with this activity, please contact Janice Gromadin at elway100@gmail.com.

House Number Project

The house number project is still alive and well. Volunteers will make a sign at no charge for your back fence to comply with city regulations. These numbers make it easier for emergency services to find your residence.

Crime Watch Report

We met with the crime prevention officer and he reports that North College Park continues to be a model for low crime. Home break-ins have been reported to the north of us. It is important to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity. Vehicles are easy targets, particularly when they are left unlocked or have valuables visible.

If you are interested in joining the crime patrol group or want to learn more, contact our crime patrol coordinator: Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com.

About North College Park Neighborhood Association

NCPNA is a neighborhood association, and unlike a homeowner’s association, we do not have any authority over anyone’s property. We sponsor activities and projects to help make our neighborhood a more pleasant and safe place to live. Volunteers are always needed, and we look forward to hearing about new ways to achieve our collective goals.

Contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com if you can help with any of these activities.
