Spring Celebration To Be Held In Early April

Our successful Spring Celebration will be held again this year and details will be shared very soon. We need help with set-up and planning/staffing of the games which last year included the egg toss, hula hoop contest and a 3-legged race. We will again have a food truck and a special visit by the Easter Bunny! To help please contact Robert Grinsfelder rmgrins@aol.com

Flag Patrol

We have a flag deployment coming up the weekend of February 18th. To keep our costs down we have a volunteer flag patrol who help deploy and retrieve the flags. We now have over 100 flags flying in North College Park! If you are willing to help with this activity, please contact Janice Gromadin at elway100@gmail.com.

Membership Happy Hour A Big Success

Almost 70 neighbors attended our Happy Hour on January 23rd at the remodeled Amigo’s Restaurant. Everyone enjoyed food provided by the NCPNA, visiting with friends and making new ones! Several new memberships were received and many neighbors renewed for the coming year resulting in our biggest January ever! Thanks to Vicki Bean for recruiting some great raffle prizes which were awarded throughout the event! The event was a great kick-off for 2023 as we make our plans for another fun year! We welcome your feedback and ideas regarding our events.

Time to Renew Your Membership + Flags

Our first flag holiday is this coming weekend, so if you want a flag in your yard, be sure and renew now!

If you have already renewed, thank you. If not, there is still time to do so.

North College Park Neighborhood Association is supported by voluntary contributions from residents. The stated goal of the association are to promote safety, integrity, beauty, quality life, a sense of community and the value of our homes.

We do these things by coming together with activities like Spring celebration, Fourth of July Parade, Flag program and National Night Out. We also promote and encourage crime prevention through crime patrol and education.

You may pay your membership by credit card, Zelle™ or personal check. Details on the membership page: ncpna.org/join. If you pay by Zelle™, be sure and include your name and street address in the message block so we can match you payment with you!

As part of membership you can opt for the Rotary Flag program and membership for $65.

Membership alone is $25.

If you have questions about membership, please contact anyone on our membership committee.

We put baskets with home items and food together for our new neighbors and invite them to join the North College Neighborhood Association. Please contact us if you know of a new neighbor on your block! The baskets are sponsored by the NCPNA.

Book Club

We’re back from hiatus! Hannah Spates (Sundial) has stepped in to lead us. We’ll meet February 25th at 1pm at Staycation to discuss our current book, “Hooked: How Crafting Saved my Life” by Sutton Foster. If you’d like to join our group and email list, please email Hannah at spateshannah@gmail.com to be added to our email list. Happy Reading!

House Number Project

The house number project is still alive and well. Volunteers will make a sign at no charge for your back fence to comply with city regulations. These numbers make it easier for emergency services to find your residence.

Crime Watch Report

Vehicle break-ins continue to dominate the reports we hear around town. North College Park continues to do well with a lower than typical crime rate. Awareness and our active crime watch patrol program is part of that success.

As always when at home lock your car, take your keys and keep valuables out of sight. If you observe suspicious activities, notify 911.

If you are interested in joining the crime patrol group or want to learn more, contact our crime patrol coordinator: Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com.

Yard Of The Month To Resume In April

Our Yard of the Month contest will resume in April and the selection will be made the week of April 9th. Thanks to several neighbors for joining our selection committee and if you are interested in helping, please send an email to Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com

About North College Park Neighborhood Association

NCPNA is a neighborhood association, and unlike a homeowner's association, we do not have any authority over anyone's property. We sponsor activities and projects to help make our neighborhood a more pleasant and safe place to live. Volunteers are always needed, and we look forward to hearing about new ways to achieve our collective goals.

Contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com if you can help with any of these activities.
