Richardson’s annual Trash Bash event returns on
Saturday, April 11 from 9am-1 pm
This year’s event will be held in the parking lot of
First United Methodist Church, 503 N. Central Expressway.

NOTE: The electronics, recycling, and document shredding event will NOT be held on Trash Bash Day. This event will take place on Saturday May 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at The Heights Church, 201 W. Renner Rd.
John Slaughter’s truck will be out front of 407 Palomar (end of Rainbow Drive) to collect electronics on May 9. Cutoff for donations in the truck is 1:30 PM. This is for electronics only. Shredding, recycling, and documents will need to be taken to the church on your own.
This is a great way to clean out any junk taking up room in your home. Make sure to take advantage of both events!
Summer Kickoff Event — Coming Soon!
We’re planning to schedule a Summer Kickoff event in early June to get the summer off to a sizzling start! More details to come as we get this scheduled.
Our Porch Crawl is moving to the Fall to hopefully experience cooler temps as we move from house to house. Stay tuned for those details later in the year!
Spring Celebration was an EGG-cellent success!
Over 130 people from College Park, North College Park and Town North participated in our Spring Celebration on Saturday, March 28th at Glenville Park.
The egg hunt by age was a popular event along with the games which included a sack race, hula hoop contest, egg race and egg toss! The Easter Bunny made an appearance and everyone enjoyed the great food from TJ’s Dawg House Food Truck!
Thanks to all of the volunteers, especially emcee Doug Freeman and Mike Vansteel, our Easter Bunny.
On behalf of the Richardson Midday Lions Club, we are pleased to invite you to join us for our Pancake Breakfast on April 11, 2026. The event will be held at Applebee’s, located at 125 North Plano Road, Richardson, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Tickets are available for $15.00.
Our fundraising efforts have made a meaningful impact on the community. We’ve contributed to the Network of Community Ministries, supported City of Richardson Employee Eye Clinics, organized eyeglass collection drives at the Richardson Senior Center, awarded scholarships to differently abled RISD students, provided Richardson Senior Center Eye Clinics, and helped establish Annie’s Place inclusive playground.
We believe there is no better way to start your day than with a hearty breakfast,
especially as we come together in support of Trash Bash!!

We also want to thank Bruce Miller Nursery for providing the gift cards awarded to the winner and runner-up each month from March through September. We provide special gift cards for October and our holiday selection in December.

Our next book club will be at the Beyond the Bar on April 11th from 1-3pm to discuss The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. We get a 2-for-1 experience supporting a local Richardson Small business and discussing a great book. See you there!

>>> Crime Patrol Report
We are ready to welcome you to Crime Watch. Please email Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com to join! Our monthly dinner meetings are held the first Thursday of every month at Rocco’s Italian Grill at 6pm. Dinner and a visit with our Richardson Police Representative (when available).
To participate in Crime Patrol, you can patrol as you feel led. One hour per month is the suggested service. Many patrollers use this time to walk with friends, their pets, or just enjoy time on their own knowing they’re doing their part to make the neighborhood safer.
>>> House Number Project
We have an incredibly special house number project in NCPNPA. Volunteers will create a handmade wooden sign for your back fence to comply with city regulations. This service is FREE to members. These signs make it easier for emergency services to find your residence. Contact Doug Freeman, d1004free@aol.com for yours if you don’t have one!
