July 2026

We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July and is savoring the last month of Summer before we’re back to school!

North College Park Neighborhood Association exists to help improve the quality of life in our neighborhood. We do this by sponsoring events during the year like National Night Out, Spring Celebration, Yard of the Month to name a few. We also promote the crime watch patrol and the flag program.

Membership dues are how we fund these activities.

Mistakes happen and we may have dropped the ball. If you think you are current, please let us know so we can sort it out.

Your annual $25 per household membership dues provide these benefits and much more:

  • Annual Membership Dinner with guest speaker(s)
  • Spring Celebration (games, egg hunt, Easter bunny photo op, food for purchase member specials)
  • Porch Crawl (discounts on commemorative glass, food, and beverages)
  • National Night Out (Berkner band performances, emergency personnel meet & greets, and member food specials)
  • Holiday Cocoa & Cookies Event
  • Monthly Book Club
  • Crime Patrol
  • Yard of the Month
  • Flag Program (5 annual flag deployments for $40 per year fee, discount booking with NCPNA)

Summer Kickoff Event Success

The clouds parted for a beautiful day and our POOL PARTY WAS A SUCCESS!

Thanks to the over 50 neighbors who attended our Kick-Off to Summer at the Glenville Park Pool!

We had two new families join the fun: Niall Comey, Patricia Ridge and Olive along with Freddie, Amy Caron and Allie Cate Halstead.

The rain stopped just in time and it was a great day for swimming!

Small Business Spotlight

While missing the “small” portion of our small business highlight, but we have an exciting new business opening in East Richardson soon. The Planet Fitness shopping center will bring a new coffee spot to the East side called Tour Les Jours! They’re a French-Asian artisan bakery serving a unique selection of fresh bread, sweet treats, and coffee.Since their launch into the United States in 2004, TOUS les JOURS has developed into a reputable neighborhood bakery specializing in French-Asian inspired baked goods, hand crafted beverages and bold, flavorful coffee and espresso made with the finest ingredients.

They take pride in sourcing and using carefully selected ingredients and promises to bring freshness and quality to our customers. To date, we have more than 110 locations across the United States, and more than 1,740 worldwide.

Monthly Engagement and Programs Update

Congratulations to our June winners of Yard of the Month!

First Place winners are David and Lisa Prusha at 1205 Horizon. They used many shade plants including caladiums and hydrangeas. A new addition is the pink grandbaby swing!

Runner-Up Winner is Dick Rawlings, 1217 Windsong. His yard is a work in progress to all native perennial plants and shrubs including purple salvia and verbina, lantana, gomphrena and Mexican feather grass surrounding a swing.

If you would like to help and are not already on the team, please contact Robert Grinsfelder at Rmgrins@aol.comIt just takes one hour each month and a commitment for every month is not expected.

We also want to thank Bruce Miller Nursery for providing the gift cards awarded to the winner and runner-up each month from March through September.  We provide special gift cards for October and our holiday selection in December.

Let’s continue to get outside and make North College Park look great!

>>> Monthly Book Club

We’re in a reorganizaton phase for Book Club at this time. Our previous hostesses are in busy life seasons, so we’ll either have someone else step in to takeover hosting/organizing or take it month-by-month to see what the group would like to do. More to come!

If you’d like to join us for this book club, start suggesting books to read with us, takeover planning, or just meet a wonderful group of people please email spateshannah@gmail.com.

>>> Crime Patrol Report

Please email Sid Weatherford at sidford01@gmail.com to join or attend monthly meetings! Our monthly dinner meetings are held the first Thursday of every month at Rocco’s Italian Grill at 6pm. Dinner and a visit with our Richardson Police Representative (when available) ir provided.

To participate in Crime Patrol, you can patrol as you feel led. One hour per month is the suggested service. Many patrollers use this time to walk with friends, their pets, or just enjoy time on their own knowing they’re doing their part to make the neighborhood safer.
