A little gem of a garden will awaken from its winter’s nap when fourteen, or so, volunteers of the Garden Ministries begin to till the soil in January and plant healthy vegetables and fruits raised from either seeds or plant slips.
Crime Continues to be Low in North College Park
Thanks to the efforts of our police department, crime patrol team and citizens who report suspicious activity, crime in our neighborhood continues to be low. Keep up the great work. If you are on the crime patrol team, please consider doing more patrols. If you have not joined the crime patrol team, consider taking the upcoming class and get on board. Patrolling is easy to do and you never get out of your car!
At the February 17 City Council/HOA presidents meeting the Richardson Police Dept.(RPD) reported that the 2014 overall crime rate for Richardson was down 6%. In 2014 there were 727 active crime watch patrollers that patrolled 25,988 hours in 23 neighborhoods. The RPD also said that more than half of the reported car burglaries were to “unlocked” cars. So be sure you always lock your car when you park it and do not leave any valuables in plain sight.
Watering Restrictions
Even though it’s winter and not much watering of lawns is going on, we are still under restrictions and they are likely to be the norm for many years to come. Currenlty we are in Stage 3 and we are allowed to water every other week. Keep this in mind when the weather warms up and the lawn needs a drink. Details may be found on the City Website. cor.net/index.aspx?page=1057
