National Night Out – Tuesday, October 7th

National Night Out – Tuesday, October 7 |
6–8 PM | Glenville Park
Join us for an evening of fun, connection, and community pride as Richardson comes together for National Night Out! Meet neighbors, enjoy food trucks, and snap a picture under our colorful balloon arch. Don’t forget to wear blue to show support for our Richardson Police Department.
We’ll also collect donations for Network of Community Ministries. They especially need items like hygiene products, diapers, canned meat and fish, baking staples, and single-serve snacks.
National Night Out is more than a block party. It’s how we build safer streets, stronger bonds, and a proud Richardson community!
NCPNA will NOT be collecting payment for rotary flags going forward.
To streamline our process and reduce duplicate paperwork, all neighbots must now subscribe for flags directly with the Rotary Club. You’ll still receive your NCPNA membership discount! Visit ncpna.org/join for more details and payment instructions.
If you have any questions, please email Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com.

This month’s small business is a sweet one! It’s also a wonderful combination of what makes Richardson so special. Paige from The Richardson Page wrote the article and Rebecca from RD Images (a previously featured small business) took the photos. Our “small” town sure is a lovely one to get to know your neighbors!
Excerpt of the article: “Tucked into the heart of Richardson is a café that feels less like a business and more like a warm embrace. Bella Flan, co-owned by Siv and Albert Lopez, is a longstanding local favorite that stands out not just for its delicacies and drinks, but for the way its adoring customers feel immediately at home when they step through the door. Siv is often diligently working up front, greeting everyone like an old friend and remembering every single name, life story, and favorite order – even if they’ve only visited once before. Combining incredible food with care for community, Bella Flan is truly a Richardson “sweet spot.”
Every month we feature a Richardson small business in our Small Business Spotlight! If you own a small business or have a special connection to one in Richardson, let us know—we love celebrating the incredible entrepreneurs in our community. You can email April at info@mindsetmarvel.com for more information on the spotlight feature.

A big thanks to Linda and Gary Vaughn for leading the YOM team this year and to our neighbors selecting our monthly winners! If you would like to help and are not already on the team, please contact Linda. lwvaughn48@gmail.com
We also want to thank Bruce Miller Nursery for providing the gift cards awarded to the winner and runner-up each month from May through September. We provide special gift cards for October and our holiday selection in December.
Let’s get outside and make North College Park look great!

>>> Monthly Book Club
We gathered this month after reading “Sensible Shoes” by Cindy Causey. Cindy graciously agreed to attend our book club. It was such a treat to talk to the author of our selection.
Our next book club we will discuss the book “Educated” by Tara Westover. This is also our annual holiday book club party. Please join us us at Hannah Lord’s home for a wonderful celebration of the year and our last book club of 2025!
If you’d like to join us for this book club, start suggesting books to read with us, or just meet a wonderful group of people please email spateshannah@gmail.com.
You can read our monthly newsletter right here!
>>> Crime Patrol May report
With Crime Patrol, no news is good news! Our next Crime Patrol meeting is November 6th at 6pm at Rocco’s in Richardson. Stay vigilant and talk to your neighbors.

>>> House Number Project
We have an incredibly special house number project in NCPNPA. Volunteers will create a handmade wooden sign for your back fence to comply with city regulations. This service is FREE to members. These signs make it easier for emergency services to find your residence. Contact Doug Freeman, d1004free@aol.com for yours if you don’t have one!
