National Night Out a Big Success

Over 200 neighbors turned the night blue and honored our First Responders on October 1st for National Night Out. Thanks to the Berkner Drum Line for another great performance and to the Credit Union of Texas for providing burgers, chips and water.
Thanks to Jason’s Deli, Huffman’s Jewelry, Chick-Fil-A, Applebee’s and Prana Haven Spiritual store for providing door prizes and coupons to add to the celebration.
We were honored to have visits from Mayor Bob Dubey, Place One City Council member Curtis Dorian as well as the Police Chief Gary Tittle and City Manager Don Magner. Everyone enjoyed the close up opportunity to see a fire truck and police vehicles and several neighbors left with new trees to help restore those lost in the spring storms. Network was on hand to collect donations and provided popsicles to the kids as a thank you.
Thanks to our partner, Town North Park Neighborhood Association, and to all the volunteers who helped in the planning, set up and clean up!

Police Chief Gary Tittle, NCPNA Treasurer Doug Freeman, NCPNA Vice President Robert Grinsfelder, Mayor Bob Dubey, NCPNA President Janice Gromadin, Council Member Curtis Dorian, City Manager Don Magner, Sergeant Brian Alcorn, Fire Chief Curtis Poovey.

Hot Chocolate Event, Sunday December 15th
We will repeat the “people’s choice” for the best holiday decorations in the neighborhood. Bring your selections and enjoy some hot chocolate in Briarcrest Circle. More details and ballots will be provided soon.
Dig out those lights and garlands and be ready for the judging in time for the vote.

Yard of the Month Volunteers Needed
Thanks to all our neighbors who help make the neighborhood a beautiful place to live. To help with Yard of the Month Selections, contact Robert Grinsfelder, rmgrins@aol.com. It just takes an hour of your time once a month!

Crime Watch
With the coming holidays and cooler weather, crime normally increases. Be particularly careful about packages being delivered and unusual activities.
As always be vigilant about locking cars, hiding valuables, and closing your garage doors.

Crime Patrol Meeting
It is much more than patrolling! Imagine a nice evening out with friends for a meal where your cell phone is put away, a nice Italian dinner is served, a nice bottle of wine is consumed and life’s stories are shared. That is what takes place at 6:00 PM on the first Thursday of every month at Rocco’s Italian Cafe next to Kroger.
For over fifteen years, our patrollers have taken time to share celebrations like birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, graduations, weddings and supported one another during difficult times and illnesses. We even get a chance to visit with our local Richardson Patrol officer and find out what is going on in our area and discover how we can help keep our neighborhood safe.
One thing we are missing is You!
Come join us on November 7th at Rocco’s at 6:00PM.
House Number Project
The house number project is alive and well. Volunteers will make a sign at no charge for your back fence to comply with city regulations. These numbers make it easier for emergency services to find your residence. Contact Doug Freeman, d1004free@aol.com if you need a sign.
Be sure your house numbers are visible from the street. Many of the curb marking have faded away.
