This exciting event is your chance to mingle with neighbors, enjoy delicious food and drinks, and create lasting memories. Imagine strolling through our streets, socializing on different porches/yards, and experiencing a progressive party unlike any other.
This year’s theme is “Raising the Bar” with each host house picking a different type of bar to represent with their decorations!
Participation:
- While there’s no admission fee at the event, we kindly ask for a suggested donation of $10 for NCPNA members and $15 for non-members/guests.
- Your contribution will help cover the cost of refreshments and ensure a smooth-running event.
- In return for your donation, you’ll receive a commemorative NCP pint glass and koozie!
- A fun-filled 3.5-hour adventure moving between Horizon, Kenshire, Serenade (host addresses will be provided in the June newsletter and event reminder!)

Thanks to everyone who attended the Spring Celebration! We had a great turnout and fun was had by all! Thanks to the College Park and Town North Neighborhoods for joining with us and providing great help and volunteers!
Doug Freeman was a great emcee and Charlie Warner reprised his role as the Easter Bunny!
We appreciated Mayor Dubey and Mayoral candidate Amir Omar for stopping by along with RISD trustee candidate Pamela Hughes and our City Council rep Curtis Dorian for joining the fun!

Today, we’re shining a light on RD Images. Rebecca Deragon is a Richardson resident and friend to the entire community. She was recently heavily involved in supporting the Mayoral race and in the Chamber’s Leadership Richardson program. She is a fantastic photographer and Mom who delivers art in all her photography!

Every month we feature a Richardson small business in our Small Business Spotlight! If you own a small business or have a special connection to one in Richardson, let us know—we love celebrating the incredible entrepreneurs in our community. You can email April at info@mindsetmarvel.com for more information on the spotlight feature.
Monthly Engagement and Programs Update
>>> Monthly Book Club
We welcomed some newcomers this month to discuss The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. A chilling thriller, some thought it was scary to read at night, so we might be taking a break from the thrillers for a bit! Our next book will be The Cutting Season by Attica Locke. This is a mystery, but should be a little less creepy than The Silent Patient.
Our next book club meet-up is May 31st from 1-2:30pm at Connie LaLumia’s house (1106 Horizon Trail)

If you’d like to join us for this book club, start suggesting books to read with us, or just meet a wonderful group of people please email spateshannah@gmail.com.
You can read our monthly newsletter right here!
>>> Crime Patrol May report
In April, the Richardson Police had a successful Drug Take Back program where citizens could drop off old prescriptions for safe disposal. I went by to drop off my expired and unknown prescriptions and who was there volunteering for Richardson Volunteers in Policing (VIP) but Sid Weatherford. VIP formal training and subsequent on-the-job training provides the police volunteers with the skills necessary to do their tasks. VIPS provide more than 19,000 hours each year. Prospective volunteers need to be at least 18 years old and live or work in the City of Richardson. Crime Watch Patroller Sid Weatherford has been a regular North College Park Crime Patrol member for many years. We’re thankful for his service. But that was not enough for him, so he is now a Richardson Policing Volunteer. You can read about the Volunteer in Policing Program here or watch this quick video.
We are ready to welcome you to Crime Watch. Please email Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com to join!
>> Yard of the Month (YOTM)
Our 2025 Yard of the Month begins this month and the YOM team will be touring the neighborhood in a couple weeks!
A big thanks to Linda and Gary Vaughn for leading the YOM team this year and to our neighbors helping to select our winners! If you would like to help and are not already on the team, please contact Linda. lwvaughn48@gmail.com
We also want to thank Bruce Miller Nursery for providing the gift cards awarded to the winner and runner-up each month from May through September. We provide special gift cards for October and our holiday selection in December.
Let’s get outside and make North College Park look great!
>>> House Number Project
We have an incredibly special house number project in NCPNPA. Volunteers will create a handmade wooden sign for your back fence to comply with city regulations. This service is FREE to members. These signs make it easier for emergency services to find your residence. Contact Doug Freeman, d1004free@aol.com for yours if you don’t have one!
