Then, come to the event and cast your vote on the back of the flyer you receive at your door for your two favorite houses by 7pm!!

Our small business spotlight this month is about Coco Shrimp.
The Coco Shrimp dream began while Isaac and Lauren Hadley were attending BYU-Hawaii. Over four, adventure-filled years, they fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle of the North Shore of Oahu. They became enamored with the way food played such an essential role in the Polynesian culture.
They first turned their dream into a food truck (converting an old ambulance!) Their first brick-and-mortar opened in Ft. Worth at the end of 2019. Despite the challenges of Covid, they thrived and by January 2024 they opened their 5th location here in Richardson and the brand continues to grow throughout Texas.
If you haven’t had a shrimp plate yet, check them out. The tastes and quality are fantastic!

Every month we feature a Richardson small business in our Small Business Spotlight! If you own a small business or have a special connection to one in Richardson, let us know—we love celebrating the incredible entrepreneurs in our community. You can email April at info@mindsetmarvel.com for more information on the spotlight feature.
>> Yard of the Month (YOTM)
NOVEMBER YARD OF THE MONTH UPDATE!
Yard of the Month is on pause for November. We’ll select our last winners of the year at our December Cocoa & Cookies event!
A big thanks to Linda and Gary Vaughn for leading the YOM team this year and to our neighbors selecting our monthly winners! If you would like to help and are not already on the team, please contact Linda. lwvaughn48@gmail.com
We also want to thank Bruce Miller Nursery for providing the gift cards awarded to the winner and runner-up each month from May through September. We provide special gift cards for October and our holiday selection in December.
Let’s get outside and make North College Park look great!
>>> Monthly Book Club
In November, we hosted our final book club of the year with a combination holiday party and final book selection. We discussed the book “Educated” by Tara Westover and reminisced over our 5th year of the NCPNA book club.
We’re on pause until the New Year. Our next book club will be on Saturday January 31st from 1-3pm. We will each read the books we opened at the party and share our take on our gifted book. We will also bring our suggestions for books to read in the New Year. It’s a great time to join us and make your suggestions for 2026!
If you’d like to join us for this book club, start suggesting books to read with us, or just meet a wonderful group of people please email spateshannah@gmail.com.
>>> Crime Patrol May report
We are ready to welcome you to Crime Watch. Please email Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com to join!
Our monthly dinner meetings are held the first Thursday of every month at Rocco’s Italian Grill at 6pm. Dinner and a visit wiht our Richardson Police Representative (when available).
To participate in Crime Patrol, you can patrol as you feel led. One hour per month is the suggested service. Many patrollers use this time to walk with friends, their pets, or just enjoy time on their own knowing they’re doing their part to make the neighborhood safer.
>>> House Number Project
We have an incredibly special house number project in NCPNPA. Volunteers will create a handmade wooden sign for your back fence to comply with city regulations. This service is FREE to members. These signs make it easier for emergency services to find your residence. Contact Doug Freeman, d1004free@aol.com for yours if you don’t have one!
