‘Tis the season for lights, joy, and holiday cheer! We’re excited to invite you to a festive celebration that’s sure to warm your heart (and your belly)! Join us for our Neighborhood Hot Chocolate & Cookies Event on Sunday, December 14th at 6-8pm.
What’s Happening at the Event:
• Hot Chocolate Bar: Warm up with a custom hot chocolate creation! Top it with marshmallows, whipped cream, sprinkles, and more!
• Vote for Best Decorated House: Bring your best decorated house selections so we can pick the best decorated houses in the neighborhood. You’ll get a flier on your door in early December with the voting form on the back. Between now and December 14th, take a stroll or drive through the neighborhood to see the beautiful holiday lights. Then, come to the event and cast your vote for your two favorite houses!
• Holiday Cookie Sharing (Optional): Bring your favorite holiday cookies to share! Bring a copy of your recipe to the event or email it to fmaldonado@gmail.com.
• Holiday Cheer: Catch up with neighbors, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and see who wins the title of Best Decorated House!
National Night Out Recap

National Night Out Success!
250 neighbors from North College Park, College Park and Town North Park gathered at Glenville Park as part of the city’s National Night Out event on October 7th.We enjoyed food from the Dennis Grill food truck and Kona Ice along with a performance by the Berkner Band Drum Line. We decorated with and wore blue to show support for our First Responders who dropped by the event.
Doug Freeman, who served as emcee of the event, was recognized for his longtime service as the leader of our Crime Watch program. We also thanked those who serve in the Crime Watch Patrol.
A drawing was held for great door prizes obtained by Vicki Bean and we collected much needed food and toiletries for the Network of Community Ministries.
Mark your calendars for October 6th next year and join the fun and fellowship!
Railroad Grass Overgrowth Update
Several members of the board are in touch with the City and the Mayor about the overgrowth of grass near the railroad tracks. We’ve been told they’re working on it with the railroad for resolution. Please stay clear of the area (especially with children) until this is resolve by the City and the Railroad.

Our spotlight is a little different this month. We’re INVITING small businesses to join us for an event!
Train 4 Tomorrow (local Richardson gym at Arapaho and Glenville) is hosting a “Pie & Buy” event on Saturday 11/15 from 8:30-10am. After their members do a short workout, they’re going to enjoy pie and shop small businesses!
If you have a small business and would like to sell your products at this event, please submit the form below and we’ll get back to you on the details.

Every month we feature a Richardson small business in our Small Business Spotlight! If you own a small business or have a special connection to one in Richardson, let us know—we love celebrating the incredible entrepreneurs in our community. You can email April at info@mindsetmarvel.com for more information on the spotlight feature.

>>> Crime Patrol May report
We’ve received recent reports of garage break-ins, car vandalism, and other incidents in the neighborhood.
The first rule for all Crime Watch Patrollers is: “If you see something, report something”. This rule applies to all citizens on all calls.
What is the best way to do that? Any type of event in-progress (i.e., a theft, burglary, assault or any offense of a more serious nature), call 911.
If it is a minor call or police assistance is not needed immediately, you can call the non-emergency number which is 972-744-4801.
Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, you can’t remember which number to use. It is nice to know that it is the same dispatchers who will answer, they will channel the call to the right area. Remember 911 calls will take priority.
Some Examples of when to call 911: Suicide concerns, major accidents (which is an accident with injuries), burglary in-progress, assault in-progress. Any medical related calls where an ambulance is needed. A suspicious person walking into your neighbors backyard that you know does not live there.
Some examples of when to call the non-emergent number: Parking violation, delayed theft, delayed burglary-vehicle (no suspect information), a suspicious person walking down the street.
We have an outstanding Police Department with some very well-trained dispatchers who will help manage your call. “If you see something, report something”.
We are ready to welcome you to Crime Watch. Please email Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com to join! Our next meeting is Thursday 11/6 at Rocco’s Italian Grill at 6pm.
>>> House Number Project
We have an incredibly special house number project in NCPNPA. Volunteers will create a handmade wooden sign for your back fence to comply with city regulations. This service is FREE to members. These signs make it easier for emergency services to find your residence. Contact Doug Freeman, d1004free@aol.com for yours if you don’t have one!
