The theme is Turn the Town Blue as we meet and thank our First Responders! Enjoy a performance by the great Berkner Drum Line. Burgers and water provided free to NCPNA members by the Credit Union of Texas. Bring donations for Network and chairs and blankets. Some seating will be provided.

Book Club

Our latest book, Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano, was a great discussion and read together! Suggested by Pat Lewis she came ready with the best questions and we dove deep on the characters, plot, and other great topics. This modern take on Little Women really sent us for a whirl as all the best books do! Our next book club is September 28th from 1-3pm with location TBD.

While we’re taking a breaking for August, we have two great ways to connect as we transition to Fall:
1. You can find our book club specific newsletter here: here
2. You can join us to read the “Richardson Reads One Book” selection, “Symphony of Secrets” by Brendan Slocumb. We’re reading this book for our September gathering and hope to attend the City event. Get the event details here (tickets are free and available on 9/10 but hard to come by): www.cor.net/departments/public-library/richardson-reads-one-book

Email Hannah at spateshannah@gmail.com for address or to join the book club email list. See you there!”

Crime Watch

Neighbors, please be vigilant about locking cars, hiding valuables, and closing your garage doors.

House Number Project

The house number project is alive and well. Volunteers will make a sign at no charge for your back fence to comply with city regulations. These numbers make it easier for emergency services to find your residence. Contact Doug Freeman, d1004free@aol.com if you need a sign.

Be sure your house numbers are visible from the street. Many of the curb marking have faded away.

Upcoming Activities

  • Flag Patrol Deployment, Labor Day August 30th
  • Crime Patrol Meeting Thursday September 5th, Rocco’s Italian Restaurant, 6PM
  • National Night Out, Tuesday October 1st 6-8pm Glenville Park.
