Back Yard Tour of Homes, Postponed

For a number of reasons we were not able to get this event launched this month. It’s hot and there is a lot going on. We are going to try again, so watch the newsletter for updates.

If you are interested in helping with this event or want more information, please contact: Janice Gromadin at 972-849-8522 Elway100@gmail.com or Vicki Bean at 214-949-7805 v.bean@att.net.

Your Neighborhood Association Needs You!

We are excited to be getting back to more in-person events and look forward to growing our participation! There are several opportunities for involvement:

Join The Flag Patrol – We can generate new income for our association by posting flags throughout the neighborhood, instead of other groups doing it. We would continue to partner with the Rotary Club which would provide the flags to us. This program is growing and we want to ensure our continued success! Please contact Janice Gromadin at elway100@gmail.com.

Yard Of The Month Selection – We need several neighbors to help us with our selection each month of our two YOM winners. We need several people to be available on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for about an hour once a month from April through December. Please contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com

Help Plan Or Staff Our Special Events – We need more neighbors involved in helping to plan and work at our special events. These include the Spring Celebration, our Backyard Tour event, the 4th of July parade/caravan and party, our National Night Out and other new events in the works! Please contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com for more information!

Curb Painting Service

Curb house numbers are very helpful making it easy for emergency services to find you home.

Doug Vail has 35 years experience painting house numbers on curbs and striping parking lots. His team only uses “Rust-Oleum” paint that is guaranteed to look like new on your curb or parking lot for at least two years and most still look great after five years.

He is a licensed, bonded, insured contractor with more than 35 years of experience. His specialty is curb painting and striping but has also done painting, cabinetry, and other handyman work for people around town.

See http://www.vail-curbmasters.com/ for more information. Call (972)800-4274 or email douglas.vail@gmail.com to arrange for curb painting. Normal rate is $25 but if you mention you heard about the business in the North College Park Newsletter, it will be $15.

Crime Watch Report

We continue to enjoy a very low crime rate in North College Park. At least part of this is due to our hard working crime patrol volunteers.

Now that summer has arrived it’s very important to be crime aware and continue to vigilant. Lock your cars and remove or keep valuables out sight. Report suspicious activities to the police.

If you are interesting in joining the crime patrol group or want to learn more, contact our crime patrol coordinator: Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com.

About North College Park Neighborhood Association

NCPNA is a neighborhood association, and unlike a homeowner’s association, we do not have any authority over anyone’s property. We sponsor activities and projects to help make our neighborhood a more pleasant and safe place to live. Volunteers are always needed, and we look forward to hearing about new ways to achieve our collective goals.

Contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com if you can help with any of these activities.
