Spring Celebration and Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 16th 10:00AM – 1:00PM

The Spring Celebration and Egg Hunt is finally back and this year we’re teaming up with Town North Park and TJ’s Dawg House food truck for a fun day in Glenville Park. The egg hunt will have separate age groups with special prizes in each egg. Several games including a Hula Hoops, 3-legged race, egg toss and corn hole.

TJ’s Dawg House food truck will be on site for lots of good food for purchase. Plain dog, chips and a drink for the kids for $5. Cash preferred but can accept debit/credit cards.

Make it a family event, bring your lawn chairs and blankets.

Don’t forget to bring a basket to collect eggs!

And like in years past, the Easter bunny will make an appearance and there will be a photo-op area. Lots of fun for all ages!

Your Neighborhood Association Needs You!

We are excited to be getting back to more in-person events and look forward to growing our participation! There are several opportunities for involvement:

Join The Flag Patrol – We can generate new income for our association by posting flags throughout the neighborhood, instead of other groups doing it. We would continue to partner with the Rotary Club which would provide the flags to us. This program is growing and we want to ensure our continued success! Please contact Janice Gromadin at elway100@gmail.com.

Yard Of The Month Selection – We need several neighbors to help us with our selection each month of our two YOM winners. We need several people to be available on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for about an hour once a month from April through December. Please contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com

Help Plan Or Staff Our Special Events – We need more neighbors involved in helping to plan and work at our special events. These include the Spring Celebration, our Backyard Tour event, the 4th of July parade/caravan and party, our National Night Out and other new events in the works! Please contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com for more information!

Crime Watch Report

Now that the weather is getting nicer we can expect more criminal activity, particularly in the evening hours. We continue to enjoy a low crime rate in our neighborhood. The neighborhoods both the south and north typically have more problems. It is important not to become complacent. The usual litany; lock your doors, keep valuables out of sight. If you see suspicious activity speak up and call 911. Our police are well trained to deal with these situations safely.

If you are interested in helping out, please fill out an application on-line richardsonpolice.net/i-want-to/sign-up-for/crime-watch-patrol/cwp-application. After you complete the application process, you will be trained by the police and then taken on a ride-along with one of our volunteer patrollers. Please join us. Contact Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com.

Book Club Update

Book Club is back!! If you are interested in getting involved with book club, please email April Anderson at adawn0105@gmail.com to get in on the fun!

Trash Bash, April 23, 2022

We will participate in the annual City of Richardson Trash Bash. We will meet at the picnic pavilion in Glenville Park at 9 AM to receive materials (trash bags, gloves etc). We will spread out around the park, the area creek behind Twin Rivers and the neighborhood hunting trash. Bring filled bags back to the pavilion by 11 AM. No need to sign up with the city, we have already done so.

About North College Park Neighborhood Association

NCPNA is a neighborhood association, and unlike a homeowner’s association, we do not have any authority over anyone’s property. We sponsor activities and projects to help make our neighborhood a more pleasant and safe place to live. Volunteers are always needed, and we look forward to hearing about new ways to achieve our collective goals.

Contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com if you can help with any of these activities.
