Thank You Richardson Police Department

If you want an insider view of what makes the Richardson Police Department so extremely effective and responsive, sign up for their 16-week Citizens Police Academy (CPA) for 2016. Yes, class participation does require a commitment but you will not be disappointed with the educational rewards and appreciation that you acquire.

Initiated and sponsored by the Crime Prevention Unit, the Citizens Police Academy links the Richardson Police with the community – the ultimate goal of the program is to enhance one’s view of police work and their day-to-day operations.

Highlights of the curriculum are classes with the K-9 units, Ride-Along shifts with police officers, an overview of the incarceration procedures, knowledge of self-defense and weapons tactics, and an unforgettable afternoon at the “hands-on” Drive-N-Shoot range. After graduation, students are invited to join the CPA Alumni Association which assists the police department with volunteer activities and special needs.

The Richardson Police Department has done a superior job in building this program and offering it to our community – make a point to take advantage of it. Thank you, law-enforcement professionals, for all the amazing work that you perform on a daily basis.
