Spring Celebration and Egg Hunt, Report

The spring celebration and egg hunt was a great success. Thanks to the volunteers who made it possible. Good food thanks to TJ’s Dawg House, games and of course lots of candy filled eggs. Here are a few pictures, more on the Facebook page. If you missed it, be sure and plan to attend next year.

Trash Bash Report

North College Park participated again this year and a few hardy souls collected several bags of trash found in Glenville Park. In addition a truck filled to the brim with discarded electronics was delivered to the collection drop-off in the Richardson Square Mall parking lot.

Back Yard Tour of Homes
June 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Do you have a pretty back yard that you would like to show off? The Yard of the Month Committee is continuing with selections of pretty yards to highlight in North College Park. The deadline to enter your house to participate is June 1. All neighbors are invited to tour the back yards and judge the contest. This was a big hit last year and we are doing it again.

There will be ballots at the first house and a box for ballot collection at the last house. There will also be a map for the tour of all houses, with each house having an assigned number. First place will be awarded a $50 gift certificate and second place will be awarded a $25 gift certificate from Bruce Miller’s Nursery.

Contact Janice Gromadin at 972-849-8522 Elway100@gmail.com or Vicki Bean at 214-949-7805 v.bean@att.net to enter your back yard on the tour or if you have questions regarding the event.

Fourth of July Activity

The TJ’s Dawg House food truck will be back by popular demand! We will have a gathering in the park following the motorcade and children’s parade with games and fun! Contact Robert Grinsfelder, rmgrins@aol.com if you can help with planning and activities!

Your Neighborhood Association Needs You!

We are excited to be getting back to more in-person events and look forward to growing our participation! There are several opportunities for involvement:

Join The Flag Patrol – We can generate new income for our association by posting flags throughout the neighborhood, instead of other groups doing it. We would continue to partner with the Rotary Club which would provide the flags to us. This program is growing and we want to ensure our continued success! Please contact Janice Gromadin at elway100@gmail.com.

Yard Of The Month Selection – We need several neighbors to help us with our selection each month of our two YOM winners. We need several people to be available on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for about an hour once a month from April through December. Please contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com

Help Plan Or Staff Our Special Events – We need more neighbors involved in helping to plan and work at our special events. These include the Spring Celebration, our Backyard Tour event, the 4th of July parade/caravan and party, our National Night Out and other new events in the works! Please contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com for more information!

Welcome Baskets

The Welcome Basket Committee is made up of Linda Brown 214-693-1612, Ioana Bates 469-396-5480 and Vicki Bean 214-949-7805 V.Bean@att.net. We put baskets with home items and food together for our new neighbors and invite them to join the North College Neighborhood Association. Please contact us if you know of a new neighbor on your block! The baskets are sponsored by the NCPNA.

Crime Watch Report

We met with the crime prevention officer and he reports that our neighborhood continues to have very little crime.

Things are changing.
North College Park Crime Watch Patrol meetings are moving to Amigos Restaurant at 6:30PM on the first Monday of every month. It is Happy Hour! Food is great! Hanging out with neighbors is even better! We are planning lunch with the Richardson Chief of Police in June. The date and time to be announced. Come join us on June 6th at 6:30PM for Happy Hour Crime Watch Patrol meetings. Contact Doug Freeman at d1004free@aol.com for info and to join our group.

About North College Park Neighborhood Association

NCPNA is a neighborhood association, and unlike a homeowner’s association, we do not have any authority over anyone’s property. We sponsor activities and projects to help make our neighborhood a more pleasant and safe place to live. Volunteers are always needed, and we look forward to hearing about new ways to achieve our collective goals.

Contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com if you can help with any of these activities.
