Fourth of July Celebration Report
The motorcade was a smashing success with a great turnout of vehicles and lots of spectators cheering us along from their front yards. We had 13 cars in the motorcade with a standout Uncle Sam, aka Charlie Warner. A special thanks to Don Bean for spearheading the event.
Patriotic Theme Yard Decorating Contest
Instead of the the yard of the month, we had a Patriotic themed yard contest.
The judges checked out the yards and selected a winner and runner-up.
The runner up is:

They broke out some of their decor they used to decorate a golf cart for the neighborhood parade when their grandkids were younger. The wreath deserves its very own special mention!
Congratulations! They received a $50 gift certificate to Bruce Miller Nursery.

They not only had Uncle Sam and yard fireworks, but Lisa HANDMADE the Snap, Crackle, POP firework decor. They received a $50 gift certificate to Bruce Miller Nursery!
Chalk Art Contest
Chalk art contest winners were Elizabeth on Rainbow and twins Kai and Skye on Windsong. They each received $10 in cash!

NCPNA Book Club
If you’re looking for your next great quarantine hobby, look no further! Unlike baking sourdough or the veggies in your victory garden, this one has a much more stable shelf life. The North College Park Book Club has arrived!! Email our virtual hostess, April Anderson at adawn0105@gmail.com 
by August 1st to join or with any questions. Through the book club email list, we will vote on a monthly book to read and meet virtually over Zoom once a month to discuss what we liked or didn’t like. This is a great way to get to know your fellow neighbor from the comfort of your own home while supporting local bookstores and donating to our two community lending libraries when you’re done if the book selection isn’t a keeper for you. We hope your next hobby is “booked” with us!
Richardson Strong Yard Signs
We still have a few signs left. The signs are $10 each with all proceeds going to The Network of Community Ministries. If you want a sign for your yard, please contact Janice Gromadin at elway100@tx.rr.com.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
We can’t thank everyone enough for pulling together during this crisis. Please continue to be aware of your neighbors and be prepared to lend a hand, if you are able, and if not report a problem. Keep checking on your neighbors, particularly the ones who are elderly and live alone. That quick phone call, text or email can make a world of difference.
The food banks are still experiencing high demand and need to replenish their shelves. When you shop, pick up items for the food bank and drop them off. Window Walk
Thanks to everyone who is participating in the window walk. It won’t be long until fall, so a fall or late summer theme would be great. However, let your imagination lead the way and have some fun.
Crime Patrol Report
We had a good month with no serious incidents. Theft from unlocked cars continues to be a problem. So lock your car, take your valuables and hide anything which looks tempting. Having a window broken to steal an empty backpack is still a borken window.
The presence of cameras in the neighborhood were critical in identifying suspects in the break-in last month. We also learned that the house was left unlocked for a short period of time and apparently the owner was observed leaving the house. Again lock your doors and be aware of your surroundings.
If you see unusual activity which just does not seem right, don't hesitate to report it to the police. Don't forget to keep your eyes open as you walk your dogs and be alert for possible problems.
